Lincoln Daily News
welcomes letters of appreciation, information and
opinion on matters pertaining to the community.
Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Dear Editor: The Parent Teacher Organization of Jefferson
Elementary School would like to thank the community for its support
in the recent playground contest that we entered. While we were not
one of the top 10 vote-getters, which would have made us a finalist,
we did finish in 15th place out of nearly 100 entries.
We would like to thank the Lincoln Daily News and Lincoln Courier
for their impressive articles highlighting our need.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the Lincoln
Community High School Media Communications students and their
teacher, Jennifer Keith, for their work in putting together several
videos to use if we became finalists -- viewable at
www.tinyurl.com/jeffersonvideos.

We would also like to thank Lincoln IGA for allowing us to put
fliers in grocery sacks.
And lastly, we would like to thank every person who voted for us,
shared it with their friends and family, and encouraged others to
vote.
Please be on the lookout for fundraisers in the future to support
the addition of playground equipment to our facility. Seeing the
community pull together to vote for this project has inspired many,
and we look forward to your continued support.
Sincerely,
Lacey Buss
Jefferson Elementary PTO
