Lincoln Daily News welcomes letters of appreciation, information and opinion on matters pertaining to the community.

Controversial issues:
As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

Community Action thanks Together for Lincoln

Send a link to a friend

Dear Editor:

This letter is in appreciation of Together for Lincoln for their generous donation to the food pantry at Community Action.

Together for Lincoln coordinated a very well-put-together food drive, partnering with Kroger and IGA. Community Action received an entire van full of food items. IGA customers supported Together for Lincoln by giving a donation to purchase a bag full of groceries. These bags contained complete meals, which we were able to distribute to clients.

[to top of second column in this letter]

Each year, Community Action serves thousands through our food pantry. We would not be able to do so without kind donations like that of Together for Lincoln.

Community Action is thankful for the generosity of those who support our work in serving those in need. Thank you again to Together for Lincoln.

Sincerely,

Ashley Doyle
Community relations director for Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois
