To the editor: HELP NEEDED
NO WE'RE NOT ASKING FOR MONEY!
ONLY YOUR SUPPORT!
On Thursday, Oct. 13, there will be a march and rally on the
square in Lincoln. This rally is sponsored by the Lincoln/Logan
County Chamber of Commerce and is for trying to save the Logan
Correctional Center from closure.
We will be marching from the chamber office -- across the
stoplights from Logan Lanes -- to the square. We are asking for
anyone who can to walk with us. It starts from the chamber at 4:15
p.m.
If Logan Correctional Center closes like the governor wants, it
will not only hurt the workers at Logan Correctional Center, but the
entire Logan County economy. Many workers will have to uproot and
leave the community, taking families and business with them. Homes
will be left possibly unsold, taking taxes away from the schools and
other areas.
Businesses will be hit with less income and cost more jobs in the
area as well.

I would hate to see this happen to this community again. I've
been here all my life and have personally seen the pain from the
loss that Lincoln has already had -- P.P.G. Industries, Lehn & Fink,
Myers Industries, Lincoln Developmental Center and others.
We are asking for your support to show the governor and our
Legislature that this community wants these jobs to stay.
Come walk with us, WEAR A RED SHIRT and send a message of
support. News media will be there, so it is important to have as
many people as possible. Bring your family. Have fun and send a
message at the same time.
