Iona Fulscher

[October 07, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Iona Gladys Fulscher, 99, of Lincoln, died Oct. 2, 2011, at 6:20 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor.

Her graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Mount Pulaski Cemetery, with Mark Weber officiating. There is no visitation.

Arrangements are by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

She retired from the Department of Mental Health in 1973 as a nursing assistant.

She was born July 1, 1912, in Mount Pulaski. Her parents were Walter Scott and Martha Jane Fuller Rowe. She married Thomas Gaffney, who preceded her in death in 1976. She later married Howard Fulscher on May 22, 1980, and he preceded her in death in November 1990.

She is survived by one daughter, Linda Maxine Williams of Lincoln; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters. She was the last of her immediate family.

She was also the last of her graduating class of 1930 from Mount Pulaski High School.

Funeral Director

She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, American Legion Auxiliary of Mount Pulaski, Eagles Auxiliary of Lincoln and Oasis Senior Citizens.

Memorials may be given to Oasis Senior Citizens or St. Clara's Manor.
