Participants will either march or ride in a motorcade down Fifth
Street to Clinton Street. The motorcade will park at Scully Park and
then march to the courthouse square. The rally will start at the
courthouse square at approximately 4:45 p.m. The collaborative is
expecting speakers to include state legislative officials, local
elected officials, union representatives and local business leaders.
Petitions will be available for signing.
People attending are encouraged to wear red, bring signs and
their support to stop the closure of Logan Correctional Center.
Refreshments will be served to the first 300 rally attendants
The Save Logan Collaborative was created between the
Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce, AFSCME Local 2073, AFSCME
Council 31, and the Lincoln & Logan County Development Partnership
in an effort to stop the closing of Logan Correctional Center and to
educate the public and lawmakers on the effects of the closure on
Logan County.
