Police
officers stand with Scott Evans Dekraai, 42, after arresting him following a
shooting at the Salon Meritage that left eight people dead and one
critically injured in Seal Beach, Calif., on Wednesday. Friends of
the salon owner and other employees said Dekraai was the ex-husband of a stylist
who worked there.

A dog model walks down
the runway during the Patterns for Paws fashion show on Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The show featured dogs, some
from the Broward County Humane Society, wearing clothes that had
been created by area designers. Rescue officials hoped to raise more
than $25,000 from the event. The humane society handles up to 10,000
adoptions a year.
St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols (5) celebrates with
Jason Motte after the ninth inning of Game 3 of baseball's National
League championship series against the Milwaukee Brewers Wednesday in St. Louis. The Cardinals won 4-3 to take a 2-1
lead in the series.
