Janet K. Henrichsmeyer, 70, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011,
at 4:45 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. |
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Jefferson
Street Christian Church. Her funeral will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday at Jefferson Street Christian Church,
with Dustin Fulton officiating.
Burial will be in Steenbergen Cemetery, rural
Mount Pulaski.
Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of
arrangements.
Mrs. Henrichsmeyer was a very involved member of
the community. She also did housekeeping for many
years for various families in the community.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1941, in Lincoln. Her
parents were Harry Albert and Rose Donath Gipson.
She married George Omer Henrichsmeyer on July 2,
1957.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; two
sons, Greg (and wife Valerie) of Lincoln and Gary of
Venice, Fla.; one daughter, Lauri A. Harris of
Lincoln; seven grandchildren, Geoff (and Pam) Brown,
Arron Brown, Ryan Brown, Derek Henrichsmeyer, David
Henrichsmeyer, Emiily D. Henrichsmeyer and Jonah M.
Harris; two great-granddaughters, Cloe Brown and
Kennedy Brown; and two sisters, Jo Ann Aylesworth
and Judy Wolpert.
Janet was an election judge for over 20 years,
tax assessor for West Lincoln Township for many
years, a member of the Oasis senior citizens board
for many years, a member of the Lincoln City Council
from 1980 to 1984, chairman of the Lincoln Planning
Commission for 12 years, a member of the
Lincoln/Logan Food Pantry board and a lifetime
member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority.
She was a charter member of the Abraham Lincoln
Railsplitting Association, served as president eight
times, and was a charter member of the Logan County
Arts and Crafts Guild. |
She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian
Church, a former deaconess at both Jefferson Street
Christian Church and Lincoln Christian Church, and
Vacation Bible School chairman for several years at
Lincoln Christian Church.
She was past president of the PTA at Jefferson
School and was on the District 27 School Citizens
Advisory Board during the 1970s. She was den mother
for Cub Scout Troop 114 and very active with the Boy
Scout program for 40 years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the
Oasis senior center or the Lincoln/Logan Food
Pantry.
