Mildred Holland

[October 27, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Mildred R. Holland, 101, of Lincoln, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2011, at 2:20 p.m. at her home.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln. Pastor Phillip Blackburn will officiate.

Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Holland was a homemaker.

She was born March 17, 1910, in Lincoln. Her parents were David E. and Myrtle D. Rhoads. She married Donald H. Holland on June 17, 1936, in Springfield. He preceded her in death on July 28, 1996.

She is survived by two daughters, Rhoda E. Holland and Martha J. Holland, both of Lincoln.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Josephine (Doty) Langellier.

Mildred was a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln, a member of the Monday Bridge Club and a member of the University of Illinois Alumni Association.

She was a graduate of Lincoln Community High School and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.

Funeral Directors

Memorial donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church in Lincoln and will be accepted at the funeral home.
