Larry 'Jug' Malerich

[October 27, 2011]  BROADWELL -- Larry D. "Jug" Malerich, 70, of Broadwell, died Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2011, at 12:32 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jeffrey Laible officiating.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln, with military rites by Lincoln American Legion Post 263.

Mr. Malerich was an auto body worker for Langellier Motor Co. in Lincoln, worked for the Laborers local for 17 years and then retired from Lincoln Developmental Center.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was born April 4, 1941, in Lincoln, the son of David and Ruth Anderson Malerich.

He is survived by his companion, Pamala Ware of Broadwell; one sister, Judith Morrow of Lincoln; a cousin Sandra (and Wayne) Benanti of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother-in-law, Clarence "Tuffy" Morrow.

Funeral Director

He was a member of the Railsplitter Antique Auto Club, an avid Illini fan and a NASCAR fan. He enjoyed life.

He graduated from Lincoln Community High School.

Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Logan County or the American Heart Association.
