Ronald Schulmeister

[September 09, 2011]  LINCOLN -- Ronald V. Schulmeister, 69, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at home, surrounded by the love of his family.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating.

Burial will follow in New Union Cemetery.

Mr. Schulmeister was employed by Speco Inc. of Schiller Park for 52 years.  

He was born Nov. 11, 1941, in Chicago His parents were Bernhardt Schulmeister and Berniece Kohler McCarthy. He married Bonnie Rickord on Feb. 16, 2002, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Ronald Schulmeister Jr. (and Jacqueline) of Villa Park and Michael Schulmeister (and Sandra) of Douglasville, Ga.; two stepsons, Travis Hassebrock of Lincoln and Brian (and Barb) Hassebrock of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Jett Brown of Taylorville; four grandchildren, Michael Schulmeister, Sara Schulmeister, Jakob Hassebrock and Taylor Hassebrock, and many stepgrandchildren; one brother, Alan Schulmeister of Melrose Park; and one sister, Cheryl Coleman of Gallatin, Tenn.

He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Wendy, Evelyn and Susan; and one brother, Ben.

Funeral Directors

He was a member of Open Arms Christian Fellowship in Lincoln and an APA pool league.

He was an avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, bowler, pool player and winemaker.

Memorial donations may be made to The Oasis senior center or the Humane Society of Logan County and will be accepted at the funeral home.
