ELKHART -- Craig Dale Stinson, 64, of
Elkhart, died Monday, Sept. 12, 2011, at 4:17 p.m. at his home.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Elkhart
Christian Church, with Bob Twist officiating.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery, with military
rites. |
Mr. Stinson was a clerk for the secretary of
state's office in Springfield.
He served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam.
He was born on May 25, 1947, in Grand Rapids,
Mich. His parents were Kern and Beverly J. Nordyke
Stinson.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather,
Beverly Caldwell Albert and Bob Albert; four sons,
Tim McCaw of Phoenix, Ariz., Dax (and Kendra)
Stinson of Springfield, Ryan Roberts of Springfield
and Joshua (and Nicole) Gray of Springfield; one
daughter, Brittany Magner-Stinson of Petersburg;
four grandchildren, Audra McCaw, Bailey Gray,
Lillian Stinson and Ethan Gray; two sisters, Diana
Ott of Elkhart and Linda Buttell of Lincoln; six
nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces.
He was preceded in death by his father and his
stepfather, Ivan Grussing. He was a very active member of Elkhart Christian
Church. |
He attended Elkhart High School, Eastern Illinois
University and the University of Illinois at
Springfield.
Memorials may be given to Elkhart Christian
Church.
