[August 06, 2012]  McLEAN -- Outdoor hatha yoga classes are being offered at Sugar Grove Nature Center in four-week sessions.

These classes are an opportunity to experience yoga in a nature setting. The beauty of the natural surroundings will enhance participants' ability to breathe, relax and leave stress behind as they perform asanas that will improve flexibility, strength and resilience.

Katie Funk, a certified yoga instructor at Deoskar Integrative Health in Bloomington, will guide students of all levels through a fun and restorative yoga practice. No previous yoga experience is required.

Class schedule:

  • Session II:
    Thursdays, Aug. 16-Sept. 6
    6-7:15 p.m.

  • Session III:
    Thursdays, Sept. 20-Oct. 11
    5:30-6:45 p.m.

The fee is $34 for nature center members and $39 for nonmembers for each four-class session. Registration and prepayment are required at least one week prior to the first class of each session. A form is available at www.sugargrovenaturecenter.org/registernow.pdf.
