Public Notice
The City
of Lincoln has implemented a program of termination of water service
to any customer who has a delinquent sewer bill due and owing to
the city. Section 7-3-1-13 of the city code provides, in part,
that "The owner, occupant and user of the sewerage system shall be
jointly and severally liable to pay for the service on the
premises..."
It is, therefore, recommended that tenants of
rental property, who pay for their sewer bills as part of their
rent, verify that all applicable sewer charges have been paid by
their landlord. If such verification is unavailable from
their landlord, tenants are advised to contact City Hall at
27-732-2144 to verify that their sewerage fees have been paid.
