Throughout the project, a lot of people have pitched in to help, including some area businesses. Heritage Packaging donated all the cardboard that was needed for the stencils. Habitat for Humanity donated painting supplies, and R.P. Lumber tinted all the white paint the group had donated. 

Kathy Vinyard of the From the Ground Up group said all the donations were greatly appreciated. The cardboard was invaluable; paint donation made the project possible; and with R.P. donating the time and coloring for the paint tint, the street art project was blessed with a lot of colorful balloons on their first location.

This was the kind of project where folks could come and work for an hour or a day.

Vinyard said that throughout the two-day project, a lot of people pitched in, spending the time they had available to help make the project a success.

 

Of course, doing a piece of art about the city of Lincoln could not be complete without including our favorite president.

Things are starting to take shape as another trademark image, the watermelon, becomes a part of the landscape.
