election results come in at the Logan County Courthouse. Running unopposed, Wright won the position of Logan County

BLOOMINGTON -- Miller Park Zoo is celebrating another
conservation program success this spring with two more wallaroos
just now emerging.
Beatrice and
Windy, the grey female common wallaroos on exhibit at the zoo,
each have a joey emerging from their pouch.
Miller Park Zoo staff estimates that the joeys are 9 months old.
“Wallaroo joeys don’t generally
stick their heads out of the pouch until they are around 5
months old,” says zoo superintendent Jay Tetzloff. “This spring
they have become more visible and active.”
The wallaroo is the third-largest type of
kangaroo, native to
Australia. The distinctive creatures can be identified in the
Wallaby Walkabout exhibit at the zoo.
Miller Park Zoo is one of six institutions breeding this
protected species. Last spring two wallaroos were born at the
zoo as well, bringing the number of births in the Miller Park
Zoo Species Survival Plan to four in the last two years.

A malnourished woman in an emergency situation will
produce enough milk to nourish her baby. Milk production
is relatively unaffected in quantity and quality. When a
breastfeeding woman is malnourished, it is the mother
who suffers, not the infant.

The Mount Pulaski
Toppers started their spring baseball season this week, with their first game
being at home against North Mac on Monday evening. That game went to North Mac, but on Tuesday
the Toppers traveled
to Decatur, where they played against Decatur Lutheran School Association and
took their first victory of the season with a 13-11 win.
