IESA state track and field 7A and 8A results -- Logan County athletes

[May 15, 2012]  EAST PEORIA -- Last weekend at the EastSide Centre in East Peoria, 11 junior high athletes and three relay teams represented Logan County at the IESA seventh- and eighth-grade Class A state championships.

Individual results:

Lexi Barry from Hartem

  • Seventh-grade girls 800 run -- finished 35th in state

  • Seventh-grade girls 1,600 run -- finished 37th in state

Michael Chi from Chester-East Lincoln

  • Seventh-grade boys long jump -- finished 17th in state

  • Seventh-grade boys 100-meter dash -- finished second in state

  • Seventh-grade boys 200-meter dash -- finished third in state

Madi Guy from Chester-East Lincoln

  • Eighth-grade girls long jump -- finished 36th in state

Kolton Johner from Hartem

  • Eighth-grade boys high jump -- finished tied for 22nd in state

Zac Montcalm from West Lincoln-Broadwell

  • Seventh-grade boys shot put -- finished 37th in state

  • Seventh-grade boys discus -- finished 33rd in state

Emma Moats from Hartem

  • Eighth-grade girls shot put -- finished 35th in state

  • Eighth-grade girls discus -- finished sixth in state

Clay Olson from Hartem

  • Eighth-grade boys shot put -- finished third in state

  • Eighth-grade boys discus -- finished 12th in state

Emme Olson from Hartem

  • Seventh-grade girls shot put -- finished 26th in state

Zach Podunajec from Chester-East Lincoln

  • Eighth-grade boys 400 dash -- finished 31st in state

Elizabeth Siebert from Mount Pulaski

  • Eighth-grade girls high jump -- finished tied for 17th in state

Peyton Taylor from Mount Pulaski

  • Seventh-grade boys discus -- finished 22nd in state

The following relay teams also made the state tournament:

  • Hartem seventh-grade girls 4x100 relay -- finished 31st

  • Chester-East Lincoln seventh-grade boys 4x100 relay -- finished tied for sixth

  • Carroll Catholic eighth-grade girls 4x100 relay -- finished 46th
