Community Action Head Start recruiters were lined up and ready to enroll children from birth through 5 years old Tuesday afternoon in front of Dollar General and Aldi on the west side of town. From left are Cathy McIntosh, family partnership specialist; Gena Richmond and Christy Turley, classroom assistants; and Brittany Feese, family partnership specialist. Head Start and Early Head Start are federally funded programs designed to promote school readiness. Services are free to families meeting income requirements, and transportation is available at most locations.
