For
those who appreciate the long-standing
contribution the Maple Club has given to local
history, hearing that it was closing was sad
news indeed. Last week though, Cathy
Tiffany announced that the club as well as
Vintage Fare in downtown Lincoln have been
purchased by Tim and Kim Forman. Vintage
Fare will open Dec. 3 and events are
currently being planned for the Maple Club as
well. Read the full story below.

Bangladeshi
firefighters try to douse a fire at a
garment factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh, on Monday,
two days after a similar incident
killed more than 110 people on the outskirts. No
casualties were reported in Monday's fire.
Bangladeshis were blocking the streets
near Dhaka on Monday, throwing stones at factories and
smashing vehicles, as they demanded justice for
those killed in the fire. Saturday's blaze
highlighted unsafe conditions in an industry
producing for retailers around the world.
