[October 10, 2012]  JACKSONVILLE -- For the second weekend in a row, the LCHS soccer boys went 2-1 in a tournament and finished third. In the Jacksonville tourney, LCHS faced Normal U-High in the semifinals and dropped the game by a final score of 5-1. The lone goal was scored by Kyle Klockenga.

In the third-place match, the Railers won 3-2, defeating Warrensburg for the second time this season. In the process, the Railers broke four more records.

The game itself ended in dramatic fashion as Will Podbelsek scored the final goal off a corner kick by Colby Leith with less than two minutes in the game. It was Podbelsek's second goal of the match, with his first goal coming off a corner on an assist from Kyle Klockenga. The other goal was scored by Tommy Harris on a penalty kick.

With the PK goal, Harris tied the record of 24 goals in a season. In addition, he broke the record for points in a season, formerly held by Jason Parmenter. The team broke the record for assists in a season and tied the team record of 11 wins in a season.

With the varsity record at 11-10 and regionals set to start next week, the Railers also assured themselves of a .500 season for the first time since 2007. Before 2004, the LCHS boys soccer team had never had a winning season. Since 2004, they have achieved this four times.
