Coleen Moore of Christian Child Care and Roy Logan of the Lincoln Park District were two of the main speakers Saturday night. Moore began by talking about the child care program.

Several years ago, the program was in deep financial trouble. The board of directors for the day care center hired Moore to run the business and worked closely with her to help get it turned around and back on its feet. Moore credited funding from United Way of Logan County as being a big part of the program's recovery and also of its continued success.

Logan spoke about the cooperative efforts between the day care and the park district. This year, with no pool, Logan and Marcia Greenslate, the director of the park district, had to find new and creative ways to bring good, healthy fun to the youngsters of the community. Logan said Moore helped a great deal with this.

He noted that the cooperative spirit of the program ultimately meant that everyone benefits from what the United Way has done for Christian Child Care.

The evening was filled with folks having a good time, visiting, eating and later in the evening perhaps even dancing to the rock 'n' roll stylings of The Shake.
