[October 15, 2012]  Katlyn Hasprey finished T-48th at the state tournament with a 36-hole score of 178 (87-91) at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.

"Fighting strong winds and cold temperatures, Katlyn fought hard both days and played her best golf this season, by far!" said Lincoln Community High School coach Christine Randall.

"Making her first appearance at state, her total score does not do a justice when describing how well she hit the ball," the coach continued. "It was great to be able to watch her put two full rounds together, hitting fairways and greens in regulation. The greens were fast, and with the conditions, they were that much harder to putt on, but she left herself great birdie chances both days. Just a few mental errors each day ended up costing her a few strokes, but even those hard times are great learning lessons out on the course.

"I was honored to watch Katlyn as her coach and supporter! She gained a lot of experience these past few days and got to play with the best golfers in the state! Katlyn should be proud of the way she carried herself, representing Lincoln Community High School well. She is ready to share her experience with her team and gear up for next season.

"Congratulations to Katlyn and her family!"
