[October 26, 2012]  STANFORD -- The Olympia High School FFA Alumni Chapter met Oct. 18 in the high school ag room.

Sharon Hartzold presided over the meeting. Carrie Glaser and Michelle Ott gave the secretary's and treasurer's reports, respectively.

Under new business, the chapter set a date of Feb. 1 for the 11th annual silent auction and pork chop dinner. The event will once again take place in the high school cafeteria and commons area. It will be in conjunction with a home varsity and sophomore basketball game against rival Normal University High School. Normal's head coach is Bob Fitzgerald, a former teacher and coach at Olympia. The menu is tentatively planned to include a pork chop sandwich, chips, dessert and a drink.

The group discussed marketing and advertising the event.

Emma Meyer gave a report on recent FFA and vo-ag classroom activities. She announced that she will take some FFA members to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind.

Curt Glaser said that he and Phil Wiehmier will do some repairs on the grill the chapter owns and will provide more details on this at a later meeting.

The next alumni chapter meeting will be on Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. in the high school ag room.
