Controversial issues:
As a
community we need to be able to talk openly about
matters that affect the quality of our lives. The
most effective and least offensive manner to get
your point across is to stick to the issue
and refrain from commenting on another person's
opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the
issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor: On behalf of the Logan County Department of Public
Health and Logan County Emergency Management Agency, we would like
to extend our appreciation to several local businesses and agencies
for their support and assistance for Logan County Family
Preparedness Day (Sept. 15, 2012). With their help we were able to
better prepare the families of Logan County for an emergency.
Our sincere gratitude goes to: Lincoln Police Department, Logan
County Crime Stoppers, Logan County Paramedic Association, Sysco,
Wal-Mart, The Owl's Roost, Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital,
Lincoln Fire Department, Lincoln Rural Fire Department, Illinois Law
Enforcement Alarm System, American Red Cross--Illinois Capital Area
Chapter, and Illinois Emergency Management Agency.
[to top of second column in this letter] |
During Family Preparedness Day we were able to provide emergency
preparedness information to families, tours of emergency vehicles,
an inflatable obstacle course and lunch for everyone in attendance.
Thank you to the Logan County community for supporting our event. We
are looking forward to making next year an even bigger success.
Shana Bean and Alana Sorrentino
