The Dallas native will look to find a spot in the rotation on the
Illinois State defensive line, most likely at the end position.
Spack believes Moore can make a difference for the Redbirds because
of sudden, quick moves in the trenches. "Rodrick comes from a
great program at Skyline that is used to winning at a high level,"
Spack said. "He was originally intending on going to Southern
Methodist but was a late qualifier, and we were able to add him to
our program here at Illinois State. He's a very athletic, sudden
player at the defensive end position and has a chance to be very
explosive there. He is not the biggest guy in terms of size, but he
makes up for that with his motor and competitiveness."

Moore was an all-district selection and ranked as one of the
top 100 players in the state of Texas as a senior. The 6-foot-1,
235-pound defensive end was rated as high as a three-star
recruit by ESPN.com and was listed as the No. 60 inside
linebacker prospect in the ESPN Top 100. Moore recorded over 100
tackles and added 5.5 sacks in his senior season, while helping
Skyline to division and district titles and the fourth round of
the state playoffs.
As a junior, Moore helped Skyline to a 14-1 overall record and a
berth in the semifinals of the state playoffs. He earned
all-district honors and was an honorable mention selection at the
Army All-American Football Camp.
Moore will join the rest of his teammates on the field when
players report for fall workouts on Aug. 2.
