Bill Hoagland, Main Street Lincoln executive director, brought his vision for the future of downtown Lincoln to the monthly meeting of the Logan County Genealogical & Historical Society on Monday evening. Hoagland has been at the helm of Main Street Lincoln since the first of the year. He and the Main Street board have embarked on an ambitious program to revitalize downtown Lincoln and make it a destination for people looking for events, shopping and dining.  Read more about Hoagland's presentation in the story below.

Digital 3-D atlas of brain reveals tiny details

This month Kerry Rolewicz is the featured artist whose work is hanging in the City Hall lobby in Lincoln. The piece above is entitled "Golfer" and is only one on display at City Hall.

Rolewicz begins each piece with a scribble. In her bio shown at the left, she explains how the process moves from a mark on a piece of paper to a work of art.

This 2006 file photo originally released by the Food Network shows celebrity chef Paula Deen. It was revealed that Deen admitted during questioning in a lawsuit that she had slurred blacks in the past. It's the second time the queen of comfort food's mouth has gotten her into big trouble. She revealed in 2012 that for three years she hid her Type 2 diabetes while continuing to cook the calorie-laden food that's bad for people like her. The Food Network, which began airing "Paula's Home Cooking" in 2002, has said it does not tolerate discrimination and is looking at the situation. Deen's other show, "Paula's Best Dishes," started at the network in 2008. She's one of the longest-running and most recognizable of the network stars, although her show airs in daytime, not prime time.
