On Monday evening the city of Lincoln welcomed a new police officer to the city force. Officer Jason Bannister was introduced by Chief Ken Greenslate.

Greenslate presented the city council with a brief resume on Bannister.

Greenslate said,  “I would like to introduce to you Jason Bannister as our newest probationary police officer. Jason comes to us from the Southern View Police Department in Springfield. Jason has been a police officer for six years. He was a corporal with the Southern View Police Department. Jason is also a member of the Illinois National Guard. While working for the Southern View Police Department, Jason was honored with the Medal of Valor for pulling a victim from a burning house while he was off-duty. I look forward to Jason being a valuable addition to our department.”

Bannister was then sworn into duty by Mayor Keith Snyder.
