[November 23, 2013]  PHOENIXVILLE, Pa. — The Lincoln Christian University men's basketball team's 13-hour trip paid off Thursday night as they overcame the Valley Forge Christian College Patriots in the first game of the Hersha Classic with a score of 70-64.

The game had over eight lead changes and saw the Red Lions going into the locker room at the half down by six, with a score of 39-33. Fortunately, the Red Lions were able to score 12 more points than the Patriots in the second half, thanks to the efforts of sophomore Anthony Rush, who had 12 points for the night, and senior David Graves with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

The Red Lions continued play in the Hersha Classic with a Friday afternoon game against Kentucky Christian College. (See report.)
