Saturday the outdoor temperatures were typical for late October, but with the sun shining there was some pleasantness to being outdoors.

At St. John United Church of Christ, though, the real pleasantness was going on inside the Fellowship Hall as a bumper bunch of people gathered inside to enjoy authentic German food and polka music.

This year the annual event included several outdoor activities for young ones, but takers were few and far between as most opted for the warmth of the indoors.

Keeping an eye on a little one inside, this lady let the sun warm her as she watched.

Going solo in the bounce house is much more fun for a little one.

A bags game was set up for interested takers.

Another young fellow contemplates the jump house.

Smoke from the cooker blurs the view but also fills the air with the aroma of cooking brats.

Several folks took advantage of the drive-thru service offered by the youth of St. John UCC.
