[October 22, 2013]  WALNUT CREEK, Calif. (AP) -- The Pac-12 Conference has reprimanded and fined Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti $5,000 for his public complaints about conference officiating and about Washington State's decision to leave in its starters and throw for two late touchdowns in the No. 2 Ducks' 62-38 victory.

Commissioner Larry Scott announced the penalty Monday in a news release, saying the comments showed a lack of support for the Pac-12's policies on sportsmanship.

Aliotti has since publicly apologized for his comments about Washington State.

In his initial comments, Aliotti called out Washington State head coach Mike Leach, calling the tactic "low class." Oregon pulled its starters in the fourth quarter of Saturday night's game.
