Alan Pegram

[October 24, 2013]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Alan Pegram, 80, of Mount Pulaski, died Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Vonderlieth Living Center, after battling cancer.

Mt. Pulaski- Alan Pegram, 80, passed away at 2:00 P.M. on October 22, 2013 at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt Pulaski, after battling cancer.

Alan was born on December 21, 1932 in Lincoln, IL, son of Thomas M. and Ruth Keys Pegram. He married Donna Rae Harmsen in 1953 in Emden; she preceded him in death in 1997. He then married Patricia Hoffman Brownlee on April 15, 2000 in Lincoln, IL. She survives him in Mt. Pulaski.

Alan was in the army during the Korean War. He was a member of American Legion Post #447, National Rifle Association, and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln, IL. He was able to make an Honor Flight to Washington D.C. in June 2013. He retired as a farmer, ran Pegram's Welding on his farm, and was an inventor.

He is survived by three children: Tom Pegram of Lincoln, IL; Marcia (Michael) Satterfield of Manitou Springs, CO; Ann (Paul) Nordstrom of Morris, IL. Two step children: Alan (Gail) Brownlee of Gibson City, IL and Mark (Julie) Brownlee of Saybrook, IL; three grandchildren: Michael and Greg Nordstrom, and Lee Satterfield and three step grandchildren, Wyatt and Dylan Brownlee and Corrinne Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Charles and Rick.

A memorial service for Alan will be held at 3:00 P.M. Sunday October 27, 2013 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Daniel Stalker officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or to the Lincoln Land Honor Flight. Services have been entrusted with Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mt. Pulaski.
