It
has been a long time coming, but it has finally happened. The bridge on Oglesby
Street is gone. In the last two days, crews made quick work of
demolishing the bridge and hauling away debris. The city will place
temporary barriers on each of the now two dead-end streets. As the budget
allows, the city will install permanent barriers with some type of decorative
element.

Andy Lopez was
killed by sheriff's deputies in Santa Rosa, Calif., on Tuesday.
Northern California sheriff's deputies shot and killed the 13-year-old boy
after repeatedly telling him to drop what turned out to be a replica assault
rifle, sheriff's officials and family members said. Two Sonoma County deputies
on patrol saw the boy walking with what appeared to be a high-powered weapon.
