HARTSBURG -- Two of Logan County's finest
volleyball programs faced off against each other Thursday night in
Hartsburg.
Anytime Mount Pulaski and
Hartsburg-Emden meet, it is not just a normal Tomahawk Conference
matchup, as evidenced by the packed gym. Both teams were fired up
early and gave the crowd all-out, hard-fought volleyball.
It was Mount Pulaski coming out
on top 25-18 and 25-19 this time. The Lady Toppers were led by Whitney
Nichols and Lilly Pickett with six kills each. Maddy Davis was
dominant as well with five kills. Maggie Olson led the Lady Toppers
with 28 assists.
Leading the way for the Lady
Stags were Kaylee Beekman with six kills and Arri Hoerbert with
three
kills. Mount Pulaski improved to 8-5 on the season.
Next up for Mount Pulaski is
Springfield Lutheran. The Lady Toppers will face them
Tuesday in Springfield at 6:15 p.m.
