High-speed rail public meeting in Lincoln on Tuesday

[September 27, 2013]  The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a public meeting in Lincoln on Tuesday concerning the Illinois High-Speed Rail project, specifically the environmental assessment for the Elkhart siding and track construction. The siding is along the Union Pacific Railroad between Fogarty and Mount Fulcher.

The meeting will be in an open house format at the Knights of Columbus, 217 Limit St. The public is encouraged to attend any time between 4 and 7 p.m.

The purpose of this meeting is to solicit input on the environmental documentation for the high-speed rail project.

IDOT will provide information regarding the environmental documentation process and public involvement opportunities. Attendees will have the opportunity to view project exhibits, provide comments and meet one-on-one with IDOT and study team representatives.
