[February 14, 2014]     Send a link to a friend

Around the room Thursday as the LJHS students read their books to the Central School third-graders, some talked about what they had learned.

Ariana Spencer was reading about Lyndon B. Johnson to third-grader James Osborne. James said that prior to the reading, he didn't really know who Lyndon Johnson was, so he had learned that Johnson was a president. James also learned that when Johnson was president, people were kept separate from each other for the wrong reasons.

James has brown eyes. He was asked how it would feel for someone to say he couldn't be their friend because his eyes were brown instead of blue. He agreed that wouldn't be a very nice thing to have happen.
