An incident of pedestrian vs. train halted train traffic Friday evening shortly before 7:30. The male involved was not yet identified. The southbound Amtrak was stopped across the Keokuk Street crossing. A number of passengers opted to exit the train and made other travel arrangements.

The train had been fraught with difficulties. Before even departing from Chicago, it was delayed by a car that needed to be changed out. Then near Joliet, it ran over something on the tracks that damaged lines and required stopping for repairs.
