Pictured
above is an aerial map of the city of Lincoln, and
streets that have been earmarked as safe for
bicycling. On Tuesday evening, Bret Aukamp
representing the Regional Planning Commission and
Logan County Bike Trail Committee presented this map
along with a written plan to the city council. The
lines marked in yellow are phase one of establishing
a county-wide trail that will be marked with road
signs as well as painted markings on the streets.
Aukamp said that phase one could be easily
accomplished if the city agrees to the expense of
the signage and paint for the streets.
