Work continues at the Lincoln Depot this week. On Monday, a large truck was collecting debris from the demolition project and hauling it to the landfill in Clinton. According to information received, materials that were recyclable were removed beforehand and have been disposed of in an appropriate manner.

On Monday during the noon hour if you looked to the northeast and up into the sky, you may have seen the Direct TV blimp. The blimp was first spotted by an LDN staff member floating over Chestervale Elevator southeast of town. Shortly after that it was spotted approaching Lincoln, but taking a turn to the north. LDN spied it again on the north end of town where it appeared to be traveling along Kickapoo Street and followed it for a short distance, past the Kreuger Elevator. Oddly, there is not a great deal of information about the blimp's travels on the internet though it does appear it has been floating above many of the major league baseball games this year.

Jordan Yarcho of Lincoln and Michael Lowery of Mount Pulaski were once again on opposing teams Saturday night as the duo participated in the 41st Annual Illinois Coaches Association Senior East-West All Star Baseball Game at the Corn Crib in Normal.
