War II veteran Vince Speranza and his granddaughter
Ella pose for a picture with an Airborne Beer brewed
near Bastogne Belguim. The beer, and the ceramic
helmet with which it is served, have a special
connection to Speranza that he shared on Sunday with
guests at the Grace Lutheran Church in Lincoln. The
church hosted Speranza in honor of all Veterans from
the World War II and Korean Conflict eras. This
coming Sunday, the church will recognize veterans
once again with a special program and guest speaker,
Vietnam Veteran Capt. Guy Gruters, an F-100 fighter
pilot who was shot down twice and spent five years
as a Prisoner of War at the Hanoi Hilton.
