Fire
trucks lined both sides of the street in downtown
Lincoln on Sunday, but there was no fire. The trucks
were a collection of firefighting apparatus from
around Logan County, plus from Mason City. They were
there to kick-off Fire Prevention Month. On display
for the public to enjoy were trucks of today and
yesteryear. This week is National Fire Prevention
week, but the city of Lincoln observes this all
month long with a poster contest for school
children, rides to school in a fire truck for the
poster winners, educational visits to various
Lincoln schools, and a special invitation for one
school to have breakfast with the firefighters at
the Lincoln Fire House.

Registration
closes Monday, October 5
Thursday was the opening day
for ReNew Thrift and Consignment located at 201 South
Chicago Street in Lincoln. The store is a
combination thrift and consignment shop. A quick
look around inside and one will find that not only
is the shop filled with some terrific items, but the
displays and decor are also pretty and fun! Be sure
to stop in soon and say hello to store manager Bobbi Reddix and her staff. Profits from the store will go
to support Inner City Missions. An office for the
Mission will also be opened in the new store, and
dollars earned by the store will go to help support
the needs of folks in the Lincoln and Logan County
community.
