On
Tuesday evening, the Lincoln City Council held their
first voting session meeting for the month of
September. At the opening of the meeting, Street
Superintendent Walt Landers recognized Larry Schaub.
Landers recounted some of Schaub's experiences.
Schaub was hired by Ray White on September 15, 1980.
He has worked under eight mayors and four street
superintendents. Landers was a freshman in high
school the year Schaub was hired. Schaub "survived a
battle with a car while painting crosswalks in July
of 1999," Landers concluded.
Schaub was presented a plaque that read "In
recognition and appreciation of 35 years of service
to the Lincoln Street Department."
