LDN -- Top Stories

This year will mark the 80th anniversary of the Logan County Fair. Believe it or not, that magnificent event is going to begin at the end of this month. The fair this year will run from July 31st through August 7th. This week the fair office officially opened for business. Those wishing to enter items in the open shows can visit the office for entry forms. Ticket sales are also starting. While the official fair book is not yet online, we know by word of mouth that there are going to be some really good grandstand attractions this year in addition to the 4-H Scramble night, and of course, the Logan County Fair Queen competition.

On Lincoln Avenue and Peoria Street, plus Clay Street to Union, patriotism was well displayed this weekend by homeowners Norman Newhouse and Troy Hanger and their neighbors. This was an event that was particularly pleasing to local veteran Bill Gossett, who submitted these photos with the message "Kudos to Norman Newhouse and Troy Hanger!"
