Late
last week work was well underway toward
the completion of a new parking garage
at the Lincoln Police Department. The
garage and a parking lot are being built
on the north lot that the city acquired
with the Jefferson School purchase.
Police Chief Paul Adams said that the
garage will be a multi-purpose area. It
will be used to store vehicles in
evidence for a case until the State's
Attorney orders release of such
vehicles, and can also act as a storage
until Illinois State Police can inspect
and search suspect vehicles. Other
portions of the garage will be used for
patrol cars to be brought inside for
light duty repairs and maintenance that
the city does on it own.
