10/07/2018 - TRAFFIC ALERT:  WATER ON ROADWAYS IS CAUSING DIFFICULTY FOR TRAVELERS IN LINCOLN TONIGHT.

Water is covering a one block length of North Ottawa starting at Keokuk and going north.

Water under the railroad viaduct on North Lincoln Parkway near North Kickapoo is also causing issues for motorists.

Please avoid these areas, and drive with great caution wherever you may be.

Lori Elliott of Make it Sew in Lincoln stands beside a variety of pink fabrics in her shop. Like the fabric, cancer comes in many varieties, even breast cancer has more than one 'type.’ No matter what kind of cancer one may have the fabric of their lives becomes woven with worries, but also with hope as we see more and more survivors of this disease. Lori was one of the many folks who donated an item to the Pink Pumpkin Auction on Thursday evening, helping to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Money raised will be designated for breast cancer research and support.

Another donor at the Thursday night auction was Remington Seed. Their donation of 'Pretty in Pink Latte" was the first item to sell. The company staff also wear their pink shirts in support of those who are currently in battle with breast cancer. Their hope is to plant a seed of hope for all those who are in battle, and to let them know they are not alone.

Local auctioneer Mike Maske stands in front of the long line of tables with pink pumpkin auction items on display Thursday evening. The auction was a fundraiser for Relay for Life of Logan County hosted by Collision Concepts and Lincoln Daily News. At the end of the night the 51 items auctioned off brought in more than $6,000 to be earmarked for breast cancer research and support.
