LDN -- Top Stories

Last Thursday evening the Lincoln College Women's Volleyball Team hosted Lincoln Christian University in their annual 'Dig the Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness game. Our LC team wore their pink for the game and to commemorate the event posed for a picture with their opponents, the LCU Red Lions.

We truly appreciate seeing young women who understand breast cancer is something we all need to be aware of regardless of age, and we all need to support those who are fighting the fight. Thank you ladies, and we truly hope that there is a cure found for breast cancer in your lifetime!

Their game story is posted today in the Local Sports section of Lincoln Daily News.

Today, two of our Paint the Paper Pink pictures are connected. We have first the staff from the Lincoln City Clerk's Office. The second picture is that of Lincoln government, including all eight aldermen, the Mayor, City Administrator, Treasurer, the council’s recording secretary and all the department heads. We appreciate all these folks do for our town, and we thank them for volunteering to have their photos taken for our Paint the Paper Pink Project.

On Sunday afternoon, dozens of people, many of them children gathered on Broadway Street in downtown Lincoln to enjoy the sights and sounds of a large collection of fire trucks. The trucks were part of the Fifth Annual Fire Truck Parade and Truck Show hosted by the Logan County Fire Fighters Association. The collection of trucks included vehicles from throughout the county.

In addition to getting to see the vehicles, children were given gifts such as coloring books and fireman hats.
