LDN -- Top Stories

Soon to be retired Lincoln Fire Chief Mark Miller offered up a short speech on Friday at a retirement luncheon held in his honor at the Lincoln Fire Station. In many ways, the event took on a reunion quality as the large number of people in attendance included former aldermen, mayors, firefighters, police officers, and more.

After visiting Creekside last year, Dean Campbell so appreciated the mission of the outdoor environmental learning center that he donated the funds in remembrance of his father to establish a grove of special little known trees, Tulip Poplars.

Following a dedication ceremony on Saturday, the Campbell family gathered around the memorial stone set in honor of Herschel "Herb" Campbell, a farmer from Olive Branch, Illinois.
