On
Friday, September 6th, Dakota Wall had the rare opportunity to meet
face to face with Army veteran Jim Champion and to reunite with a
special dog, Bowie. Wall trained Bowie to be a companion/service dog
in the Paws Giving Independence program at Logan Correctional
Center.
Wall is one of several inmates at the Logan CC working with dogs who
then go out to people in need of assistance as well as
companionship. Champion had requested a meeting with Wall to express
his appreciation for her training Bowie. Bowie saved Champion's life
by alerting him to a fire in his home.

NEW ROAD CLOSURE STARTS MONDAY
Beginning Monday, September 16, 2019 at 7:00
AM, IL 10 on the east edge of the City of Lincoln will be
closed at the CN-IC Railroad grade crossing.
Traffic will not be allowed through the area during
construction. The repairs are expected to be completed
on Friday, September 20 at 7:00 PM.
The public’s cooperation is always appreciated. Thank you in
advance for your patience during this repair.
