Well
known storyteller and historic interpreter Brian "Fox" Ellis was the
guest speaker on Saturday at the Mount Pulaski Courthouse Abraham
Lincoln birthday celebration. Ellis portrayed Black Jack Logan, who
hailed from Illinois, and became a significant general during the
Civil War. Black Jack was the son of Dr. John Logan, who was a good
friend to Abraham Lincoln while he served in the Illinois Senate.
Dr. John Logan is also the man for whom Lincoln recommended naming
our county.
