LDN -- Top Stories

2019 PHOTO OF THE YEAR

The 2019 photo of the year is this picture of Lincoln Community High School Coach Neil Alexander with his dad Elmer. The shot taken by Teena Lowery was the aftermath of a celebration on Railer Senior night in February of 2019, where Coach Alexander was recognized for being the third-winningest coach in Illinois history.

‘Coach Al’ humbly accepted the accolades during Senior Night. Though he was proud and humbled by all the attention, perhaps one of the most rewarding moments may have been when he received a proud smile and pat on the back from his dad.

It just goes to show whether we are five or fifty, our parents are always proud of our accomplishments, and that in itself is most times worth all the effort.

The elevator at Lincoln's City Hall is currently out of order.

Because the city of Lincoln holds council meetings according to the open meetings act and must supply access to every one according to the Americans with Disabilities Act, tonight's city council meeting will be moved to the Lincoln Police Department training room.

The LPD is located in the 700 block of Fifth Street in the former Jefferson School building. The meeting of the Lincoln City Council will begin at 7 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
