On Thursday evening, guests at the Lincoln Arts Institute were treated to the impressive works of three sculptors, Dennis French, Jason Hoffman and Randy Reid. It was opening night for the July show and those in attendance enjoyed some amazing pieces in a variety of styles and sizes.

The piece entitled "High Yield" by Randy Reid may have been the smallest. On a round turned wood piece no larger than a small dinner plate, Reid created a meticulously detailed cornfield.

In contrast, Jason Hoffman offered perhaps the largest piece inside the gallery with his table entitled "Champlain." The tall glass table was intricately designed using various mediums, including metal, wood, and concrete. Bigger still was the "Big Mistake Out" bottle created by Hoffman and displayed outside the building.

Not to be outdone, Dennis French presented among his works this fascinating locomotive clock entitled "Magritte Bieder." The work done by French was on loan for the exhibit from the city of Normal.

Lincoln Daily News will have additional coverage from the exhibit in a future edition.
