The Monday Paint the Paper Pink pictures include first the Lincoln city council and other government officials. The second picture features Lincoln City Clerk Peggy Bateman and staff at city hall.

These photos represent the people who have taken on the responsibility of making decisions on behalf of their constituents for the good of the city and those entrusted to carry through on those decisions.

As is the case in any community, some people have complete confidence in the ability of these folks, while others may not. That is our nature and our prerogative.

The same is true when we go to our doctors. Some we may like, some we may not. Remember, you have the right to choose. To go through your diagnosis and treatment, you should have faith in the doctors and their staff and feel comfortable that the action plan they set for you is correct.

If you aren't comfortable, then seek out another opinion and even another doctor. Remember, your mental health is also at stake as you fight your cancer, regardless of what type it is. You can't focus on your disease if you have doubts about your doctor and your action plan.
